The Invention of Edison: A CLO Musical

Visit the Heinz History Center for a CLO performance illuminating the work of Thomas Edison and then enjoy a tour featuring the Pittsburgh: A Tradition of Innovation exhibition to explore regional inventions, including the work of George Westinghouse, Edison’s greatest rival.
Thomas Edison is known across the globe for a myriad of inventions, including the lighted miner's electric cap lamp which was designed here in Pittsburgh. Edison knows his works better than any other, but how will he prove it to the world? By announcing that he will light up all of lower Manhattan, of course! Easier said than done in this adventure that takes us on a journey over two continents full of colorful characters, setbacks, and triumphs. Funny, fast paced, and touching, The Invention of Edison is about the make or break moment behind the man we may or may not know and ultimately how that moment changed the world forever.
